This evening, Greg and I had our first (and hopefully last) trip to Nighttime Pediatrics in Pasadena. And, I must say that I was not satisfied with my experiance. First, we were told to come back at 9:20pm. We arrived before 7pm. Secondly, we waited for like 30+ minutes before the doctor came in only be told she has the runs and to give her Pedialyte. Greg and I felt it had to be something other than the obvious. And, what brought us to take her was the fact that she had not slept at all since this mornings run to Arundel Mills and that she had a bowel movement that looked like curddled mustard/milk (gross, I know) in addition to her severe crying that would not end until her body made her pass out for about 15 minutes.
The result of the visit? Amelia now weighs a whopping 12lbs and has no issues with a rectal temperature check.
So, after the appointment, I called Amelia's pediatrician and told him what we just went through and agreed on the Pedialyte until tomorrow afternoon when he told me to call.
The physician at Nighttime Pediatrics also suggested putting Amelia on a different formula because of the possibility of reflux. Greg doesn't think that will be the solution if that is the case and I need to know what to do because my WIC appointment is this Tuesday.
Welcome to Parenthood!
