Work has been a little on the slow side. Don't get me wrong, we've had our moments of extreme busy, but nothing on a regular basis.
So, to kill time, I've been reading online and such. And, now I am completely distracted.
I need to get my focus back in order. So, this morning I started working on my on-going project. The reason I stopped the project was because after nearly 2 months, I questioned to reason of this project. I never got an answer about whether to continue or not, so I stopped. Recently, like last Friday, I went to check on the grid and there were like 177 new account numbers!! So, I guess they decided to move on with the project and not tell me; this morning I started the tedious task of going through the 200+ accounts, on a idividual level, and so forth. I believe I made it through 40-ish accounts. My goal, for this afternoon, is to complete all the accounts and then to hopefully go back and call the account holders on the ones that were cancelled for the specific reason this whole project began.
Yeah, we'll see how this goal goes...
In the mean time, it is my lunch hour and I'm taking full advantage of it. I'm almost caught up on my email, I did fax the application for the condo and included additional refernces (again, going for the brownie points here), did the email 'chat' thing with Greg this morning, posted a few comments on a few regular blogs I read, and just chilled out.
Last night, Greg was unable to open a storage unit because their credit card machine was down. So, we came home and he cooked dinner while I tended to the bebah, also known as Amelia. Amelia went to bed rather early and easily. Around 7, I was holding her in my lap and she started to rub her eyes, so I placed her against my chest and she began to suck her thumb and lay her head on me. Then, every 5 seconds she would lift her head, let out a sad and pathetic cry and then lay her head back down. All I could do was laugh as she did this over and over. Eventually, I took her upstairs and laid her in the crib thingy and she pretty much went to sleep. Now, around 10:30, she was WIDE AWAKE, like playing and chatting and shrieking as if it were in the morning! This totally confused Greg and I. So, we picked her up, changed her and gave her a small bottle. She was back asleep by 11:15pm and I was too far behind her.
Today, Greg has a huge list of tasks for me! First, he's going up to Security to pick up my tags (I don't know why I thought they would be mailed to me; oh, I know why, because that would make more sense!), then try to open the storage unit, and then stop at Target to pick up the pictures I ordered last week off of Flickr.
Have I mentioned how much I like making new friends? I don't think I have, well I do. I've made a new friend! It's a long distance friendship, but should be entertaining.
Also, I have a few new regular readers! One hails from Virginia and the others are from 'across the pond' in England. Howdy!
Well, lunch is about over and I am going to work on my goal.
Have a nice day!
Jess

A New Week with New Hope
Oy! What a weekend. I hope to never have a repeat of this past weekend, ever. It just wasn't good, at all.
Oh, and I forgot our application to the condo this morning. D'Oh! But, I sent an email to the owners letting them know that I did forget it and that I will fax it tomorrow. Also, I told them how much Greg and I enjoyed the condo. Hoping to get some 'brownie points' here.
Greg said one, of many, sweet things over the weekend. I can't remember if he said this on Saturday or Sunday since the days kinda blur together, but this is what he said:
Greg: "I can't wait until Amelia is like 7 years old...
Me: Why?
Greg: Because, I think it would be cool to have a map of the mid-Atlantic and every Wednesday night, we look at the map and tell her to pick a place that she would like to visit for a weekend trip."
Wow! He's already planning things in the future! Also, we discussed when to try having another baby! Greg wants to wait until Amelia is between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. I agree.
And, we also talked about our future together, again. Last night, I was watching "My First Place" or something similar, on HGTV while Greg was playing DD (Diner Dash). Apparently, Greg was listening to the show because later I asked him which he would prefer to do; marry then buy a house or buy a house and then marry. He stated he would like to get married first. This is starting to get kinda exciting for me. Of course, I'm not going to obsess about it, shit I'm not even engaged, technically. But, it really makes me feel good that Greg has referred to his Mom as my Future Mother-in-law (a comment from this weekend).
This is an interesting story, yet sad. I can't imagine anyone ignoring their children for online gaming. How is that possible, on an emotional level? The daughter only weighed 10 pounds when she, and her brother, were taken into the hospital. Amelia weighs 15 pounds is only 6 months old! That couple should be in jail a lot longer than 12 years.
Also, I am totally enjoying this new blog, BlueSoup, she's so funny! Go check it out.
Oh yeah, update on Amelia and her 6 month check-up:
Height: 25 inches
Weight: 15 pounds
Shots: 4 (5 inoculations in 4 shots)
Overall: Clean bill of health. Oh, and to switch from rice cereal to oatmeal in hopes to ease the constipation she has suffered. Also, we can start her on flavored Gerber foods!! After the appointment, Greg and I went to Giant and picked out Applesause to start off with. It was interesting; she made some weird faces and gaged a little, but she did 'eat' some of it. The doctore suggested that we stick with on flavor for 3-4 days to make sure there isn't a reaction before moving onto the next flavor. Guess what the next flavor is.... nope... it's not green.... not a sweet vegetable... it's carrots! Blah, I totally dislike cooked carrots (and pretty much all other veggies; meaning I like them raw and uncooked), so this could be interesting. The plan is to alternate between fruit and veggies.
So, to recap:
Birth Weight: 6.14 pounds
Birth Height: 18.4 inches
Total weight gained: 9 pounds
Total growth: 7 inches
Can you imagine if we grew 7 inches in 6 months? Yeesh! Also, I think it's funny, and I mentioned this to Greg, how we focus on weight gain in infants and when the infants are about 20 years old, they focus on weight loss. Isn't that the story of life?

Where has the time gone?
I just realized that it's Thursday. I don't know why my brain was telling me it was Wednesday; I like Thursday better, anyway.
Top Chef was interesting. I knew the hillbilly guy wasn't going to make it after the first challenge. Poor guy, though; his father committed suicide. Good luck to him.
Greg and I were so eager to watch the first episode! He's totally hooked as he is with Hell's Kitchen. Good!
Prior to Top Chef, Greg and I went out to get dinner for one and all. We also went to get a few items from the grocery store. We were gone for nearly an hour, no thanks to Hardee's. Ugh, they ticked me off because I had to wait, like 10 minutes, for a damn chicken sandwich. I knew there was going to be some wait, but I wasn't under the impression it was going to be that long. Besides, I was already irritable due to the pending cycle (which has made its glorious debut this morning).
Today, at work, I actually worked! Shocker, I know. All this week, I've had little, to no, motivation to really do anything but read. Guess that could all be related to the cycle. Hormones do weird things to you. I don't like them, not one bit.
The hormones have put me on a Skittles craze, lately. All I want are Skittles and Riesen Chocolates. Yeah, all this HAS to be because of my hormones... no other explaination.
