I've just returned from lunch. I spent my lunch hour doing errands, which pretty much means I ran to Greg's office to get my tax stuff and back. Well, the good thing is that Greg works like 12 minutes from my office. So, since Greg spent all morning finalizing my taxes and submitting the state protion, I decided to stop and bring him lunch. Lunch was nothing special, just a few items from McDonals Dollar Menu. Personally, I don't care much for McDonalds, especially their french fried (yuck), but Greg seems to like them. So, I arrived at his place and got out to meet him at the door, but he's telling me to get back in the car because he didn't want the papers to blow away (mind you, he doesn't know that I stopped to get food for him) and I was trying to stall him from getting to my car, but he wasn't listening. The reason for the stall was because I wrote a 'Thank You' note for him and included was a comment that said "Please accept this lunch as a token of my appreciation" and I wanted him to be surprised but, like I said, he didn't listen. But, in any event, he was surprised by the lunch waiting for him in the front seat. So, we sat in my car talking about his morning events, meaning his email conversations with both his ex's. He printed out one email for me to read... My, she is nuts! All he could do was laugh as I was reading the email. She loves to make stuff up and all that she wrote (and it was a lot of lies) made no sense and Greg and I knew, based on the *things* her 'current boyfriend' has done, were false. Anyone who read that email would know how false the *things* stated was. Yeah, it was a good laugh.
I can't stop thinking about how much Greg means to me. I constantly want to show him how happy he makes me by buying him surprises, basically me giving him things to show my affection. I love giving gifts, more than I like receiving them. I am horrible when it comes to birthday presents and surprises and Christmas because as soon as I get the gift, want to give it to the person right away (although, I have no problem holding out on family members, it's more for my friends). For instance, Greg's birthday is on 4/24. I ordered a new O's shirt for his birthday and it came in last week. Greg was at the townhouse and I couldn't wait until this weekend to share the gift, I had to give it to him right away! He, at first, was reluctant to open the box, but I convinced him to do so because I have other 'gifts' in mind for him. He loves the shirt (there is a picture of him in it on my flickr account). Then, later in the week when he was over again, I was on the laptop looking for hotels to reserve as part of his other birthday present. I was trying to keep this, renting a hotel room for just the two of us while my Mom watched Amelia, a surprise, but he was watching me surf and knew what I was up to. But, he is very much looking forward to this coming weekend (though, I've forgotten on numerous occassions about said plan by asking Greg "what do you want to do this weekend?"). So, I really do want to surprise him with a gift for his birthday and I've been thinking about buying tickets to see The Blue Man Group (which would be a little pricey) or buying him a larger memory stick for his camera (which is about $75). So, I've still got some time to surprise Greg.
